Kai Havertz seeking gold medal in diving at Olympics this summer with flop vs. Bournemouth

Arsenal forward Kai Havertz showed to the world that he’s a tremendous multisport athlete during his side’s 3-0 victory vs. Bournemouth on Saturday. Word on the street is that he’s eyeing up the Paris Olympics to represent Germany’s diving team.

Near the end of the first half Havertz displayed his incredible diving technique in Bournemouth’s penalty area.

In the 42nd minute Havertz had perfect form on the “dangled leg tuck” dive only performed by the top divers in the world. He’d surely get all 10’s from the judges in Paris with a dive like this.

Havertz dive vs. Bournemouth

Germany’s last gold medal in men’s diving was back in 1912 for the 3-meter springboard. Germany should consider calling up Havertz if they want to end that drought.

The Arsenal vs. Bournemouth game was yet another example of a Premier League game ruined by VAR. Early in the game Bukayo Saka practically lost part of his leg after a dangerous high tackle from Ryan Christie.

No card was shown for the challenge.

The refereeing controversy only got worse in the second half when Bournemouth had a goal chalked off due to minimal contact between Dominic Solanke and David Raya.

Just another enjoyable weekend of watching the Premier League. Maybe we’ll start watching games in Sweden where VAR doesn’t exist.
