Christian Pulisic hits perfect assist for AC Milan to seal amazing comeback

Christian Pulisic had a notable performance with AC Milan against Genoa this Sunday, giving the game-winning assist for his club in the closing minutes of the game… that was later ruined by an own goal to lose the three points at home.

Pulisic started for rossoneris in the 35th Matchday of the Serie A, with the American playing in the No. 10 role whose main duty was to create opportunities for his teammates in the attacking front and having the freedom to create some of his own.

Following Genoa’s early lead, the USMNT player had a couple close chances to put the game level at the San Siro, with one of his efforts hitting the post.

Unlucky.

Milan were able to tie the game before the end of the first half, but were quickly shut down after Genoa scored the turnaround goal just three minutes into the restart.

It was not looking good.

In the 72nd minute, however, the rossoneris scored to put the game level once again hoping for the comeback.

Just three minutes later, a marvelous play from outside the box by Pulisic, perfectly lobbing the ball onto Olivier Giroud, put Milan in the lead for the first time in the match. What a dime.

This was Pulisic’s 22nd goal contribution across all competitions for Milan this season.

However, and in pure 2023/24 AC Milan fashion, their amazing comeback was spoiled to an own goal in the last play of the game.

Milan will remain and conclude their Serie A season with a second-placed finish, with Christian Pulisic having three more league games before shifting his focus with the U.S. men’s national team and the 2024 Copa America.
